Colonel[1] Adam Llewellyn De Vere Adamant[2] (b. 1867) was a British adventurer of the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1895, Adamant was commissioned as a colonel in the British Army reserves, serving as part of the volunteer strength of the 51st Yeomanry.[3] After trailing his longtime foe the Face to an abandoned mansion in London. He was captured and cryogenically frozen, left to be forgotten by his mortal foe, and is officially recorded as missing in action and presumed deceased. He remained entombed in ice until 1966.[4] Owing to his disappearance, Colonel Adamant was never discharged from the British Army.[5]
