Archer

Archer was a robotic freedom fighter of the late 20th century. The leader of the Gorgonites, Archer fought alongside Alan Abernathy and his neighbour Christy Fimple in the Commando Elite-Gorgonite War.

After their plans for mutually exclusive toylines were rushed into production by GloboTech Industries CEO Gil Mars, toy designers Larry Benson and Irwin Wayfair scrambled to develop the toys for the expected launch date. With no time to change their storyline and characterisation, Archer and the other Gorgonites retained their originally intended personalities when they were programmed into the advanced X1000 microprocessor chips. After meeting Abernathy in his father's toystore, Archer sought his help in protecting the Gorgonites from the genocidal ambitions of Major Chip Hazard's Commando Elite. With the help of Fimple and both teenagers' families, Archer and the Gorgonites were able to defeat the Commandos and live in peace. Archer and the rest subsequently said goodbye to Abernathy after they were transported to Yosemite National Park to search for the Isle of Gorgon.[1]

Weaknesses[]

Personal[]

  • Programming: Due to his programming providing him with the instinctual belief that his only abilities were to hide and be defeated in combat, Archer was initially trapped in a defeatist mindset that made him reliant on the assistance of others. He subsequently learned that when defeat is assured whether he were to fight back or not, there was no reason not to fight back. (FILM: Small Soldiers)

Technological[]

  • EMP Vulnerability: Due to the use of the X1000 in his construction, Archer was vulnerable to the deployment of an electromagnetic pulse, which would have had a lethal effect on him. (FILM: Small Soldiers)
