“ | The Beast was a pervert. Don't ask me to describe what kind of pervert it was, or what constituted "normal" for its race. I don't want to think about either one. Please just take my word for it that it was, by its own lights, disgusting. It was not ashamed of itself. Shame is a kind of self-hatred, and no Master is capable of hating - or loving - itself. But it did wish strongly that it could be other than it was, and that is as close as such a being can come to shame. | ” |
–Jake Stonebender, relating information gleaned by Paul Macdonald from the Beast's own mind |
The Beast was an outcast of the Masters, exiled for its depraved perversions. Seeking revenge on its race, it set out across the cosmos in search of the errant slave Txffu Mpwfs. It engaged in psychic battle with the patrons of Callahan's Place and lost, preventing the eradication of life on Earth.
Biography[]
Recording of the Filarii[]
After encountering a slave-scout, the Filarii opted to make contact with and try to educate the Masters rather than annihilate them. The Masters were not so kind, and recorded the entire Filarii species, save for Txffu Mpwfs, whom was given to the Master who would come to be known as the Beast. The sole survivor was converted into a powerful, weaponised cyborg that was sent out through the stars to wipe out civilisations. (PROSE: Callahan's Legacy)
Legacy[]
Freeing of the Lizard[]
In 1988, the Beast's other slave, the Lizard, was freed from servitude to its deceased master.
Weapons and Abilities[]
Assets[]
- Uncleanliness: Its status as a pervert was well-known to members of its own race; this meant that no other Master would claim its territory or personal possessions, since by definition they were the property of a pervert. (PROSE: Callahan's Legacy)
Physical Appearance[]
In the opinion of Jake Stonebender, it resembled a cockroach about twice the size of the average specimen- assuming that the viewer didn't live in New York, in which case it would be standard fair for the Lower East Side (PROSE: The Mick of Time) at about a foot long. (PROSE: Callahan's Legacy) Stonebender considered its apparel to resemble a boiler suit (PROSE: The Mick of Time) or space suit. (PROSE: Callahan's Legacy)
