Captain O'Reilly was a Canadian sea captain and sailor. He reluctantly agreed to take Joey Hadishing and his friends to Hecate Island, and participated in a coverup of disappearances on the island.
Biography[]
Hadishing excursion[]
In October 2009,[1] O'Reilly was in his cabin on Calvert Island when Joey Hadishing arrived with his friends Ricky, Ellis, and Rachel. While O'Reilly tried to dissuade them from heading to Hecate Island, offering to take them to other islands and suggesting they take their photos on Calvert, but Hadishing's friends were dead set on going to Hecate.
Angered and dismissing the four youths as fools, he agreed to take them. O'Reilly left the four of them on the island despite Hadishing's repeated trances, promising to be back by sunset.
Hadishing was later found on the shores of Calvert Island. O'Reilly and the rest of the islanders lied to investigators about the presence of the other three students.[2] (PROSE: Hecate Island)
