DEATH BATTLE! is an American web series devoted to pitting fictional characters against each other in fights to the death. Beginning in 2010, the series ran for 10 seasons prior to its abrupt cancellation during production of Season 11.

In the wake of the closure of Rooster Teeth, the show's future was at first uncertain. Animator Luis Cruz expressed an assumption that he'd be unemployed going forward.[1] Editor and writer Djmah'di Rivers lamented the company's passing.[2] Regular musician Brandon Yates expressed hope that commissions from fans of the series would continue.[3] Producer Erin Makela expressed her surprise.[4] Chad James implied his role on the series was finished, but pledged to try and do something to help the show.[5] Creator Ben Singer expressed his uncertainty about the future of the series, and thanked all his past colleagues.[6] He promised to keep the show's channel alive.[7] 3D animator DevilArtemis made a YouTube community post stating that the series was in limbo.[8]
On 8 March, Cruz stated certain animations had already been completed.[9] On the 12th, Cruz reacted with happiness to the #SaveDEATHBATTLE Twitter trend, and reflected on past episode animations.[10] On the Death Battle Cast episode released on the same day, Singer stated that it would be unwise to purchase any further memberships, and disabled superchats.[11] Rivers spoke out about fans allegedly sending death threats to a person who did not care for the series.[12]

- ↑ I'm sure you've all heard the news by now, but if not, Rooster Teeth has been shut down by WB, and unfortunately, it's IPS along with it. Death battle being one of those. I'm going to be real with you guys. Death Battle is NOT 100% gone. Its not. Honestly its in a state of Limbo. Meaning it's not gone forever, but it's not being produced either. So I'm not sure if it will come back, BUT, If it does, we will continue to produce the show, with more freedom. If the show DOESNT come back, then thank you all for supporting the entire Death Battle team. I had some of the best times working at Death Battle. I wouldn't count this as the end, but for now, we have to wait and see. If you guys want more info check out Twitter/X for more.
