Behind the Scenes[]
- Dr. Loomis was portrayed by English actor Donald Pleasence.[1][2][3] Other actors considered for the part included Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Dennis Hopper, Kirk Douglas, David Carradine, Peter O'Toole, and Mel Brooks.[4]
- The character received a brief cameo in the 2021 semi-sequel "Halloween Kills".[5]
Trivia[]
- Pleasence notably attempted an American accent in the first film;[6] in later films he eschewed it entirely. While his age goes unstated by the film, assuming he shares roughly the same birth date means he would have been born under the American flag that flew from 1912 to 1959; Lee, Cushing, and the other actors considered also all fall under that time period.
