Eugene Allen Hackman (30 January 1930-26 February 2025) was an American retired actor and novelist. In a career that spanned more than six decades,[1] Hackman was nominated for five Academy Awards and won two,[2] four Golden Globes, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and two BAFTAs. He was the oldest living and earliest surviving Best Actor-winner following the death of Sidney Poitier.[3]
