Henry Pelham FRS (25 September 1694 – 6 March 1754) was an English politician who is historically recognised as having been the third Prime Minister of Great Britain, in which office he served from 1743 until his death.
Pelham's administration experienced the disruption of the Jacobite rising of 1745 and continued the War of the Austrian Succession. Pelham's government adopted the Gregorian calendar, and passed the Jew Bill of 1753, as well as the Marriage Act of 1753.
