Sir James Bond V. C., D.C.M. was an English military officer and spy of the 20th century. Born in the 19th century, Bond fought in the Battle of Mafeking and the Ashanti Uprising before becoming a spy for the British government. Accruing a legendary status from his exploits, British intelligence chose to assign his name to another agent for propaganda purposes. He was eventually recalled to service after SMERSH began a widespread international campaign of assassinations against intelligence officers, and was killed after unveiling the mastermind of the organisation, his nephew Jimmy Bond.
