Major Michael Kessler was a Canadian military officer and law enforcement official of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Kessler served with Joint Task Force 2 during the Bosnian War, where he first met CSIS agent Andrew Mannering. Kessler later became the head of the Canadian border security agency Immigration and Customs Security under the subordination of Public Safety Canada. Kessler lead the agency through Islamic terrorist attacks, protected political refugees, investigated 'Ndrangheta and biker criminal enterprises, and averted assassinations. Kessler found himself drawn into political intrigue and international espionage; Kessler played a part in the downfall of Minister of Justice Donald Campbell. Kessler's interactions with Suzanne Fleischer, Clifford Holland, and Jack Hardacre were at times acrimonious.
