Mr. Wednesday was an American deity and con artist who organised a revolt among the Old Gods in retaliation against their treatment by the New Gods.

  • Wednesday was portrayed by English actor Ian McShane.[1][2][3] McShane's casting in the series was announced 2 March 2016.[4]
  • McShane was originally offered the role of Czernobog, but felt more interest in the role of Wednesday. McShane would later meet Neil Gaiman on the third day of filming for the series.[5]
