Earlier Life[]
Kramden once worked delivering newspapers. He later switched to delivering groceries for A&P, before the Great Depression arrived. He was working for the WPA shoveling snow when he met Alice Gibson. She had been assigned to hand out shovels to the workers. (TV: A Matter of Life and Death) Prior to their marriage, she called him her "little buttercup". (TV: A Woman's Work Is Never Done)
