The following is a list of rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to SuperEpicFailpedia Wiki, or the Omniverse Wiki.
Articles
Eligibility
SuperEpicFailpedia is devoted to the Omniverse; the all-expansive realm of fiction. Because there is a lot of fiction out there in the world, it is this wiki's choice to focus on characters and works where the fandoms are negligible or nonexistent, i.e., to things that would otherwise not get any attention. Because of this, works that are better explored on other wikis are better kept to other wikis. Memory Alpha, Wookieepedia, and more are substantial wikis with devoted userbases.
This does not mean that characters from beloved franchises are banned, it just means that there are probably other, better places for many characters and works of fiction if they can be found regularly trending on Twitter.
Notes on Eligibility
- The pages devoted to Star Wars-related topics are focused on the original trilogy, by the caveat that George Lucas and later Disney had made changes and edits to the original works, only these later versions of the films are canon to the prequel and sequel trilogies. Thus, the original trilogy (as it existed at the time of its release) exists in its own continuity.
- This wiki disregards the sliding timescale used by Marvel Comics and other comic book company. Pages pertaining to characters from their publications will be focused around their first appearances, up until the time when the sliding timescale had obviously kicked in. If a sliding timescale does not exist, is never mentioned, or never implied to exist, then it is safe to include all references to a character, such as in the case of the Claw.
Article Length
While there are no limits that can be set assuming that a page is focused on a topic and isn't turning into spam, there are minimums. Articles should not be one sentence long. Users that post a one-sentence long article will be contacted on their wall with a request to expand the article, and given a period of 12 hours to respond. If they do so, they will be given another 12 hours in which to expand the article to a satisfactory level of completeness. If the poster makes no attempt to correct this in either period of 12 hours the page will be deleted.
If pages that do not meet requirements are found to have been in existence for multiple days in an unsatisfactory state, they will be deleted on sight.
References
It is seldom that references to a work cannot be found. If you can't find news articles or reviews on a topic, try to consult Google Books, or failing that, YouTube videos in which the topic of the given article is discussed.
Bad Behaviour
Behaviour that warrants a warning
Any combinations of these actions will likely result in a ban.
- Blanking: Blanking a page will result in a warning. Blanking a separate page before or after that warning will result in a ban.
- Posting Spam: Users will first receive a warning after having on three separate occasions posted spam. Another instance will result in a second warning. A following instance will result in a ban.
- Vandalism: Adding random curse words, sexual language, or material wholly unrelated to the topic of an article as a manner of distracting a reader will generate warning. Doing so again after a second warning will result in a ban.
Behaviour that warrants a ban
- Posting Pornographic Content: Forbidden by the Fandom Community Guidelines.
- Exhibition of Hate Speech: Depends entirely on context. The excuse of "I was just quoting something" will be measured on the frequency of the language in question and whether the excuse makes any sense in the given context.
- Furthermore, Users with names containing racial slurs, or using profile pictures obviously intended to cause offence, will be summarily banned if they exhibit any bad behaviour, as it would be difficult to assume vandalism done by a user with the N-word in their username to have been done in good faith.
- Attempting to Circumvent a ban: Attempting to circumvent a ban will result in the banning of the new account and the upgrading of the ban on the original account to infinite.
There will be no
These are articles which will not be accepted. While the posting of these pages may not result in a ban barring extraordinary circumstances, they simultaneously are unwanted and will be deleted.
- Pages published in other languages
- Due to the fact that I cannot read or understand other languages, users will not be permitted to post alternative language versions of pages in order to avoid spam, trolling, and general inaccuracy. See the Scots Wikipedia debacle.[1]
- Pages devoted to referring to religious figures as fictional
- Unless the page is devoted to a fictional depiction of a deity (i.e., Jesus from "Family Guy", or Mr. Wednesday from "American Gods", there should not be any pages devoted to referring to deities as fictional characters. Creating pages that imply Muhammad is as real as Bigfoot are a no-no.
- Pages devoted to forum posters
- Unless the user is somehow notable to people beyond their general sphere on influence, such as John Titor, there is no need for pages dedicated to regular people on the internet. It could also easily go against Fandom's TOS against harassment and bullying to host such articles.
