I would like to here again state that 106 is not, as is commonly believed, a basic predator, on par with an advanced shark. SCP-106 is a sentient being, albeit a totally alien one. SCP-106 appears to be aware of several things beyond the scope of pure instinct and genetic memory. SCP-106 consistently breaches at moments where recovery and containment are most difficult. A fox may see his way out of a trap, but only a man will wait for his captors to look away to escape.

SCP-106 was an anomalous entity contained by the SCP Foundation. It used its anomalous abilities and pocket dimension to prey on, hunt, and torture human beings for its own sadistic pleasure.[2]

Biography[]

Suspected Origin[]

The old man, young

"Corporal Lawrence", several days after his recovery

During the First World War, an army officer referred to as "Corporal Lawrence" was assigned at the frontlines after having been transferred alongside a group of reinforcements previously stationed in France.[3]

SCP-106 was a Keter class SCP whose containment procedures had to be adjusted several times because of frequent escape attempts. (PROSE: SCP-106)

Personality[]

When still human, Lawrence was a solitary individual who generally avoided communication with others.[4]

After becoming SCP-106, took pleasure from torture both psychological and physical. It committed sexual assault on both women and children.[5] It kept to the habit of singing "My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean".[6]

Anomalous Abilities[]

  • Portal Generation: SCP-106 was capable of generating portals to and from its pocket dimension, without any known limit.

  • Intangibility: SCP-106 could phase through walls, floors, and ceilings, without displaying any disorientation.
  • Shapeshifting: SCP-106 can appear however it wishes to appear, it just prefers the appearance it typically takes.[7]

Notes[]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • SCP-106 is among the SCPs created by early SCP Foundation writer Dr Gears. In 2017, Gears stated that he had retrieved the image from 4chan and then kept it while thinking of an idea of an entity that preyed on humans while also adding disturbing concepts to create the character and story.[12]
  • SCP-106's original image was replaced because it was used without consent of its (at present unknown) creator.[13]
  • Other potential origins for the character include the tale "Until Death", linking the character to "SCP-3001" and Dr. Robert Scranton,[14] as well as "Once But Not Now".[15]

Reception[]

  • Game Rant ranked 106 as being its number one potential choice to be a great horror movie villain.[16]

  12. 4chan, actually, which was were I got the bulk of my stuff back in the day. Snatched it off a thread and sat with it for a while, then just cooked something up. The idea was something to fill the void of a human predator, like a lion or tiger to our monkey. Add in abuse, reality distortion, sexual assault, neglect, and how SCP processes can evolve, and 106 shambled into frame. - Re: Ask Dr.Gears Things - Dr Gears - 6 Apr 2017 - SCP Foundation - Retrieved 16 April 2023
