Ted was a survivor of the Third World War and AM's genocide against humanity. Alongside Benny, Gorrister, Nimdok, and Ellen, Ted was kept alive for over 109 years to be subjected to torture as AM's plaything. After seizing an opportunity to kill the others and free them from AM's sadistic whims, the sentient computer transformed him into an amorphous blob-like creature to prevent him from killing himself and leaving it alone.[1]
