When Andrew Long, hyper-efficient small town accountant, finds a $1240 discrepancy in the city budget, his superiors try to explain it away. When he insists on pursuing the matter, he's in danger of being blamed himself. Reception[]
Retrospective[]
In 1999, a reviewer for At-A-Glance Film Reviews stated, "The movie is a lot of fun thanks to the strong performances and entertaining moments of humor. Holden and Brian Donlevy... effortlessly drew me into the story right off the bat. Taken in the spirit in which it was intended -- escapist entertainment -- it's amply fits the bill."[2]
