"Three Finger" was an American serial killer of the 20th and 21st centuries. As part of a large inbred family of West Virginians, Three Finger took part in a decades-long mass murder spree as part of a cannibalistic lifestyle initiated by his father, the Old Man.

Biography[]

Legacy[]

Three Finger's corpse still remained on top of the remains of his truck while Nate Wilson and Alex Miles were found in the road by police. Some time later, Wilson returned to the forest to retrieve the money from the armoured car. He was killed by Brandon Lewis, who was in turn killed by another surviving cannibal. (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)

Weapons and Abilities[]

Inherent Abilities[]

  • Durability: Because of his inbred nature[1] (FILM: Wrong Turn), Three Finger was able to withstand many attacks that would typically disable or outright kill a normal human being. (FILM: Wrong Turn, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
    • Was only briefly incapacitated by being knocked out of a tree and landing below (FILM: Wrong Turn)
    • Survived having an axe lodged in his test and being left in an explosion that killed his brothers, One Eye and Saw Tooth. Not only that, but he was still fit enough to kill a ranger with an axe while severely burnt. (FILM: Wrong Turn)
    • Shrugged off a knife to his gut (FILM: Wrong Turn 2: Dead End)
    • Survived a shotgun blast to the torso powerful enough to lift him off his feet and send him flying into a lake tens of feet away. (FILM: Wrong Turn 2: Dead End)
    • Shrugged off handgun fire (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
    • Was only briefly incapacitated by being impaled (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
    • Was only briefly incapacitated from being flung from a moving vehicle by a crash (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
  • Strength: Because of his inbred nature and childhood exposure to chemicals from the Hope Creek Pulp & Paper mill, Three Finger was possessed of much greater than average strength.
    • Swung an axe with sufficient force to split Carly Numan's skull in half. (FILM: Wrong Turn)
    • Swung an axe with sufficient force to cleave Kimberly Caldwell in twain vertically. (FILM: Wrong Turn 2: Dead End)
    • Thrusted a spear into a man's mouth, through his spine, and into the ground behind him. (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
    • Dragged Carlos Chavez along the ground onehanded with a hook. (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
    • Swung an axe through the roof of a moving truck. (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)

Armaments[]

  • Axes: Three Finger used a variety of axes as weapons.
  • Bow and Arrow: Three Finger used a bow an arrow to deadly effect.
    • Shot an arrow into Sophie Delaney's head, skewering her eyeball and killing her. (FILM: Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)

Assets[]

  • Local Knowledge: Three Finger was very familiar with the surrounding area he lived in. (FILM: Wrong Turn, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)
  • Seclusion: Three Finger had the advantage of living in the rural wilderness of the Greenbrier Backcountry to commit his crimes in. (FILM: Wrong Turn, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead)

Notes[]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Three Finger was initially portrayed by Canadian actor Julian Richings in the first film.[2][3] Richings drew from his stage experience while playing the part, and did most of his own stunts.[4] Richings developed Three Finger's design and movements alongside Stan Winston, and additionally created the character's laugh.[5]

Reception[]

  • Phelan Porteous, in-character as Phelous, stated he felt the character was generic, and only recognised the character because of the repeated mention of his name in the various films' IMDB credits.[6][7]

Trivia[]

  • The Stan Winston School of Character Arts posted a behind the scenes video in 2020 documenting the sculpting of the Three Finger design.[8]
  • Allison Pregler sang a parody of the James Bond song "Goldfinger" titled "Three Finger".[9][10]

Appearances[]

  • Wrong Turn (first appearance)
  • Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
  • Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (final appearance)
