United States

The United States of America is a North American country bordered on the north by Canada and on the south by Mexico. It is a federal republic of fifty states, 48 of which are conterminous, while Alaska and Hawaii are not. It's capital is Washington, D.C., and it's largest city is New York City. In terms of population, it is the third largest country in the world, behind China and India.
