Narayanan “Vijayaraj” Alagarswami (25 August 1952 - 28 December 2023), better known by his stage name Vijayakanth, was an Indian politician and former actor who had worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016.

Vijayakanth was reported to have been hospitalised with a fever on 19 May, 2021. He was confirmed to have not contracted the coronavirus.[1]
